Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that anyone can now take public transport and that from 1 August employees will not be encouraged to work from home. The government said large gatherings will recommence from October as part of plans to further ease the lockdown. Indoor performances and events in sports stadiums will first be trialled next month.
