Churchill’s legacy still painful for Indians – BBC News

Over the past month a number of statues of past leaders have been defaced around the world, during protests that were part of the Black Lives Matter movement. They’ve triggered debate over the UK’s colonial history. In the latest in our series of reports on the legacy of the British Empire, Yogita Limaye reports from India, one of the UK’s former colonies about how former British prime minister Winston Churchill is viewed by people there, particularly in relation to a deadly famine that occurred in the country during the second world war.
