US election 2020: Trump goes after absentee and mail-in voting | DW News

The coronavirus has put voting by mail in focus ahead of the 2020 US presidential election. Already gone in the United States are the large-scale rallies and close-up encounters of 2016. Physical distancing also poses a logistical headache for polling day. But the mail-in vote has critics, including President Donald Trump. Recently appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is a major Trump contributor who has invested heavily in corporations that stand to benefit if the US Postal Service dies, and he seems to be doing what he can to thwart mail delivery.
