Many compare the Belarus uprising to others that have happened in recent decades, and one leading dissident is now citing the Venezuelan scenario in that context. In both cases, Western leaders didn’t recognize the results of elections and threw their support behind the protests. And just as Venezuela now has two parliaments, things seem to be heading that way in Belarus, where an opposition coordination council has been formed.
