Customized censorship | Facebook ‘blocks access’ to protest group in Thailand

Human rights advocates are furious that social media giant, #Facebook, is ‘blocking access’ to a million-strong protest group in #Thailand over the group’s criticisms of the country’s king. Thailand is witnessing mass pro-democracy rallies, with some calling for reform of the monarchy. Facebook says it would ‘rather not’ shut down the group but is being ‘pressured’ by Thai authorities. However in other countries, Facebook has no qualms whatsoever about challenging authority.
