Winter care plan aims to protect vulnerable from coronavirus second wave in England – BBC News

The UK government has published details of its social care winter plan for England. All adult social care care providers will get free personal protective equipment, there’ll be more monitoring of the movement of care home staff, and new guidelines for visitors to care homes, in restricted areas. It’s hoped the plan will prevent the many thousands of deaths in care homes in England that occurred during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by social affairs correspondent Alison Holt in Lincolnshire.
