If you thought your last Zoom meeting was dull, spare a thought for diplomats (and journalists) around the world. The United Nations General Assembly has kicked off, and in true 2020 fashion, it’s a virtual event, because… coronavirus. All 193 member nations will be making their speeches from the comfort of their own countries. Traditionally, UNGAs serve as an opportunity to brag about accomplishments, seek out allies, and fan the flames of decades-old rivalries.
