Sarah Gavron’s “Rocks” revolves around a girl who’s left to fend for herself and her brother after their mum disappears. Meanwhile, the French film “Cuties” or “Mignonnes” from Maïmouna Doucouré is being defended by France’s culture minister Roselyne Bachelot after causing controversy in the United States.
