Donald Trump has “mild symptoms” but is in “good spirits” after contracting coronavirus, a White House official has said. The US president and his wife Melania are self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19, just one month before the US election. White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told reporters on Friday that President Trump “continues to be, not only in good spirits, but very energetic”. He added: “I’m optimistic that he will have a quick and speedy recovery.
