Candace Owens’ #BLEXIT organization rallied hundreds of people to attend an event at the White House, where US President Donald Trump gave a speech dubbed ‘Law and Order’. Later, former Arizona police officer Brandon Tatum led BLEXIT supporters through Washington, DC. They could be heard chanting “Black backs the blue” as they went. BLEXIT, a portmanteau of ‘Black’ and ‘exit’, was founded by Owens in 2018. The group encourages ethnic minorities to leave the Democratic Party in favor of the Republicans.
