A Russian university has unveiled a self-driving truck that can distinguish road signs and recognize pedestrians and other obstacles. It moves using satellite navigation and a state of the art localization system that doesn’t require pre-installed digital maps, meaning it can find its own path if the geolocation service was to suddenly crash.
