In the Ivory Coast, the opposition has dismissed concessions tabled by the government that are still hoped to end its boycott of the election in coming days. The calls for a boycott came after Alassane Ouattara, who has governed for two terms, said he would stand again in defiance of a constitutional limit, saying that a 2016 reform has reset the counter.
