The UK will begin its mass vaccination programme next week after the Pfizer/BioNTech jab was approved. Other countries are expected to follow. So how do we know that the vaccine is safe? Prof Martin Hibbert, a professor of emerging infectious disease at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, explains.
