The UK government has brought some areas into the highest alert level early as a result of recent “exponential” rises in coronavirus cases across parts of England.England’s three-tier system was introduced after lockdown 2.0 ended on 2 December and other parts of the country have been subject to the increased restrictions since they were introduced.
