Thousands of people are set to ring bells on their doorsteps this Christmas Eve to help spread unity and combat loneliness during the pandemic. Mary Beggs-Reid tells Sky News why she started the campaign, which has already seen 445,00 sign up, including the prime minister and his wife. In an effort to spread “hope and togetherness”, people are being asked to ring a bell – or bang a saucepan – on their own doorstep for two minutes at 6pm on Christmas Eve.
