Suspected far-right extremism case puts Germany’s regional AFD under surveillance

A reported ‘attacks on human dignity, rejection of the rule of law and an anti-democratic stance’ has led to the right-wing Alternative for Germany Party being put under more state surveillance. Leaked details of a parliament meeting reveal that Saxony-Anhalt’s intelligence services will now be able to spy on the communications and purchases of more than a thousand party members.
