Myanmar junta arrests senior member of Suu Kyi party, amid ‘growing volatile opposition movement’

Citizens of #Myanmar​ are staging further protests just days after the country’s army overthrew #Aung​ Suu San Kyi’s government in a #coup​, a move that sparked international condemnation. Hundreds of Burmese are taking part in peaceful protests, including in the tightly controlled capital, as the army steps up its crackdown, arresting officials, such as a senior member of Suu Kyi’s party. ‘A growing volatile opposition movement’ to the junta is being organized, as FRANCE 24’s Cyril Payen explains.
