He suspended construction of Trump’s border wall and rescinded the state of national emergency at the US-Mexican border. Now he is expected to release families seeking asylum within 72 hours of their arrival on US soil, after they pass a COVID-19 test and a background check. The new policy has sparked hope in the hearts of refugees who have waited for months and years to gain the chance to apply for asylum in the US.
