Five EU members vent anger on ‘huge disparity’ in COVID vaccine roll-out

The EU Commission’s vice-president says the bloc is ‘struggling’ with vaccination, mainly because of delays in delivery of the AstraZeneca jab: an initial deal of 80 million doses was slashed to just 31 million. Five member states have written a letter, venting their anger at what they call ‘huge disparities’ in the way vaccines are being shared out, and raising doubts about whether the union is serving every member’s best interests.
