The new NatWest chief executive has released a statement announcing the departure of Coutts’ Peter Flavel by mutual consent and with immediate effect. “We have fallen below the bank’s high standards of personal service”, Mr Flavel said. “As chief executive of Coutts it is right that I bear ultimate responsibility”.
