Marco McCool, a 19-year-old apprentice who is in Gran Canaria with his girlfriend and unable to get home to Edinburgh, has told Sky News the couple are “in the dust” and “haven’t got any other options”. Mr McCool said his experience has been an “absolute nightmare” with the couple spending the night in the airport and may have to do the same for another night.
