The devastating floods that hit eastern Libya’s amid Storm Daniel’s torrential rain have killed thousands of people and have reduced the city of Derna to a wasteland. The deluge of water that swept sleeping families out to sea is believed to have been caused by the collapse of two dams on the night of the flood.
