Labour’s Pat McFadden has condemned the Hamas attack on Israel but refused to be drawn on reports the shadow foreign secretary is due to appear at an event with Palestine’s Ambassador to the UK. Husam Zomlot told CNN at the weekend that the attack by Hamas on Israel had been “coming their way” – at odds with Labour’s repeated condemnation of the attacks. Mr McFadden was repeatedly unable to clarify the reports around Mr Lammy, but stressed Israel “did not have it coming”.
