Humanitarian aid has trickled into Nasser hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip but it’s just a temporary fix. “It is true that a small amount of aid has arrived but it’s simply not enough to meet the huge demand for medical supplies,” says Nahed Abu Taima, director of the Nasser Medical Complex. One key supply missing is fuel. Israel is refusing to allow fuel into the Gaza Strip because it says it could be used for military purposes and it claims Hamas already has half a million litres in storage.
