US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to meet Jordan’s King Abdullah II Saturday after leaving Israel empty-handed in his efforts to secure humanitarian “pauses” in its war to destroy Hamas. Blinken is also to meet foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and Egypt as well as a representative of the Palestinian Authority in Amman. “Those countries are all calling for a ceasefire, not just a humanitarian pause; they want to see the bombing in Gaza stop now,” FRANCE 24’s Catherine Norris Trent said as she reports from Tel Aviv.
