Germany’s governing coaltion has agreed to double its military aid for Ukraine next year to 8 billion euros. Germany’s defense ministry said the increase is a response to this year’s experience, which it said showed that planned amounts were quickly exhausted. Ukraine’s counteroffensive has so far failed to drive out Russian forces entrenched in the south and east.
