In Ethiopia’s northern state of Tigray, authorities are warning the region is on the brink of famine. Tigray’s interim president says at least 90 percent of people there are at risk of starvation. He said the crisis was triggered by the Tigray war, which ended 14 months ago, as well as drought and a lack of aid. The Ethiopian government in Addis Ababa says the claims are exaggerated.
