China has unveiled a new vision for an economic and cultural future unified with Taiwan. The self-governing island is days away from voting for a new president. The announcement is seen as Beijing’s latest attempt to influence voters in Taiwan, which it claims is Chinese territory and has vowed to retake by force if necessary.

Let me get this straight. The Taiwanese make 2-1/2 times more money than mainlanders, but mainlanders think THEY should govern them. Maybe everyone there should consider the reverse scenario.
Give Taiwan a few dozen nukes and short range launchers and have them test one where China can see it. Problem solved.
