Robert Jenrick says he is “prepared” to vote against the Rwanda bill if the government does not adopt “robust” changes to the proposed legislation. The former immigration minister told Sky News’s Beth Rigby that “the ball is in the government’s court, as he urged the prime minister to accept his tougher amendments to the plan. The proposed law is heading back to the Commons for two days of debate, with the aim of deterring asylum seekers from coming to the UK via small boat crossings.
