Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has told the United States he opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state once the conflict in Gaza comes to an end. In a news conference, Netanyahu said Israel must have security control over all territory west of the River Jordan, which would include the territory of any future Palestinian state. Israel’s allies, including the US – and many of its foes – have urged a revival of the long-dormant “two-state solution”, in which a future Palestinian state would sit side-by-side with an Israeli one.
- Deputy head of Hezbollah: Stability in Lebanon and the region and an end to the war will only happen if the Zionist aggression in the Gaza Strip stops. If Israel expands hostilities, it will receive an even stronger slap in the face and will see even more decisive action from Lebanon. Our readiness to repel Zionist aggression is high, and we are preparing to repel aggression that may have a beginning and no end. – Sprinter
- The plan from the very beginning has been to force a mass exodus of Gazans from the Gaza Strip. Those are Israel’s victory conditions. It’s so obvious. Early on in the crisis, a cabinet minister all but said this publicly, and Netanyahu didn’t even reproach him. He just said that his cabinet ministers should be “careful with your words.” Since then, the case for mass relocation has been made in op-eds for the Wall Street Journal and elsewhere, by members of the Israeli government. The German government has already made extensive preparations at its embassy in Cairo to allow resettlement of Gazans in Germany. You can bet that other European and Western nations are having their arms twisted hard right now to accept tens of thousands of Gazan refugees. This plan needs to be rejected totally. Our governments have no mandate to accept Gazan refugees. This is simply Israel exporting its own demographic problems to the West. Raw Eggnationalist
