American mercenaries, hired by the UAE to kill in Yemen, have spoken candidly on camera for the first time in an investigation by BBC Arabic. At a time when Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping have highlighted the international dimensions of the Yemeni conflict, the investigation also reveals how US mercenaries trained Emirati officers to kill the UAE’s political enemies in Yemen. These extra-judicial killings, conducted in the name of counter-terrorism, started in 2015 and continue to this day.
- Yemen Prime Minister to PressTV: “We followed the history of the USA, which entered the Vietnam War and was defeated. It entered a war in Korea and was defeated. It entered Iraq and Afghanistan and was also defeated. It imposed a siege on Iran since the establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979 and failed. We are betting on our people, on history and on the future, that the United States will fail in every battle it enters.” “The Western regime fell after the Al Aqsa Flood began. All their slogans such as morality, human freedom, international humanitarian law, justice and equality have fallen.” “The aggression and blockade in Gaza must stop, and our operation at sea will stop. As for media lies, they will not work as they did in the past.”

- It’s insulting to call the Houthis heroes or claim they’re “taking responsibility.” They should take responsibility for the humanitarian crisis in Yemen where more than 10 million Yemeni children are starving. But instead, they’re waging a war against Israel that they can’t afford.
