Speaker of the Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle says he was not informed about the Houthi strikes in Yemen ahead of time – as he was the first time round – but instead received a phone call “as the operation was taking place”. He insisted MPs “must be informed at the earliest opportunity” of any action against the Houthis and must also be told if strikes are part of “continuous action” in the region.
