Idris Elba has called for a ban on machetes and so-called zombie-style blades to further deter knife crime in the country. He also says that he “wants youth services to be reinstalled”. However, he argued against the mandatory imprisonment of young people that carry them – saying there’s no “one size fits all” approach to tackling the problem.
