Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed his top military commander. General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi had been commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s armed forces. He is regarded by many as a national hero for overseeing Ukraine’s war effort since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. He’ll be replaced by the commander of Ukraine’s ground forces – Oleksandr Syrskyi.
