Promise of new legislation fails to quell French farmers’ anger • FRANCE 24 English

Farmers are continuing to protest across France, with about 200 demonstrators stormed the headquarters of the largest dairy products group in the world on Wednesday demanding better pay and restrictions on international competition. The French government has promised new legislation to ease tensions, but many farmers say they are insufficient, demanding reduced environmental protections as well.
