Speaking on Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips the chancellor says “in the long run”, the UK needs to have a lower tax burden. Mr Hunt says everything he does will be “responsible” and “affordable”, in such a manner that it will make a difference in five, 10 or 15 years. He would not be drawn on specifics, saying he won’t speak about details today.
