Chancellor Jeremy Hunt announced that national insurance would be cut by 2p, ‘non-dom’ tax breaks would be abolished, and there would be a freeze in alcohol duty but an extension to the 5p cut in fuel duty. Mr Hunt said the cut in national insurance would save the average worker £450 a year.
