Sir Keir Starmer has told Sky News the space his father had for him as a child was “emotionally squeezed”. The Labour leader told Sky’s Sophy Ridge that his mother’s long-term illness meant much of his father’s time was taken up caring for her. As a consequence, he has made a concerted effort to spend more time with his own children.
