Communities Secretary Michael Gove has set out the government’s new definition of extremism in the Commons, naming some of the groups that will be re-assessed. Some far-right groups and Islamist organisations will be looked at under the new definition to prevent them from benefitting from state funding. He said the new definition will not impact those “exercising their proper right to free speech”.
