Britain’s most decorated female Olympian says her devotion to her children and family was behind the reason she walked away from the sport. Laura Kenny told Sky News that her experiences of a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy made her realise having children was a “privilege, not a given'”. The cycling icon, who won five Olympic golds and seven world titles, described to Wilfred Frost the “horrible feelings” she felt having to leave her two children to attend regular training camps – feelings that made her realise she was no longer committed to the sport.
