More than 700 sub-postmasters and mistresses had their reputations ruined by allegations of theft and false accounting, with many left bankrupt or in prison, as a result of a computer system called Horizon.
Post Office victims campaigner Alan Bates has told the inquiry into the Horizon IT scandal that it was "pretty obvious" the organisation "were after me – one way or another".
He also claimed the Post Office was "beyond saving".
