‘This pact kills!’: Protests as European parliament votes to tighten migration laws

The European parliament has passed sweeping changes to the EU’s migration laws. Supporters called the move historic but NGOs said it was a step backward for human rights. The vote ends eight years of deadlock over efforts to tighten border management and asylum processes in the 27-member bloc.
