Titanic survivor recalls disaster: ‘I shall probably dream about it tonight’ | BBC News

Frank Prentice’s survival of the Titanic’s sinking in 1912, at the age of 23, is one of the miraculous tales from that tragic night.

More than 1,500 people died when the Titanic struck an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912, causing the boat to sink.

In the BBC documentary The Great Liners from 1979, he vividly depicted the harrowing events of that historic night.

Prentice described how the Titanic sinking continued to haunt him in his dreams for decades afterward.
