The former Post Office executive Angela van den Bogerd was questioned at the continuing inquiry. She was personally involved in many cases and oversaw complaints from sub-postmasters. Van den Bogerd worked for the Post Office from 1985 to 2020, and personally handled many sub-postmasters’ complaints about the Horizon IT system. She started by apologising to former sub-postmasters who were affected by the Horizon IT scandal, saying: ‘I am truly, truly sorry for the devastation caused to you’
