Student Gaza protests: Columbia students defy ultimatum to end anti-war encampment

Pro-Palestinian protesters at Columbia University have rejected an ultimatum issued by the university’s president, Minouche Shafik, to disband their pro-Palestine encampment by 2pm ET. Sueda Polat, a student organiser, told reporters that the university’s negotiating position ‘evidenced an elementary understanding of the words boycott and divest’ and they would not ‘be moved unless by force’.
