South West Water has told Totnes MP Anthony Mangnall that a damaged air valve "may have allowed animal waste or contaminated groundwater" to enter Brixham’s water supply.
There are dozens of confirmed cases of cryptosporidiosis – an intestinal parasitic disease – in the area. Many more unconfirmed cases are suspected, as Sky News’ Dan Whitehead reports.
