Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong has offered his "deepest apologies to everyone affected" after a flight from London to Singapore encountered severe turbulence, during which a passenger died.
The man, named as 73-year-old Geoff Kitchen, died of a suspected heart attack.
Seventy-one wounded passengers are being treated at a hospital in Bangkok, where the plane made an emergency landing. Six are in critical condition.
Singapore’s new PM Lawrence Wong has promised a "thorough investigation”.
