More than 2,000 people are believed to have been buried alive in a landslide in Papua New Guinea, the country’s disaster agency has said.
Locals have been desperately trying to rescue survivors after the side of a mountain collapsed following heavy rain, burying as many as six villages.
The landslide hit a remote area of the Pacific nation at around 3am local time on Friday when people would have been sleeping.
