Labour’s shadow business secretary, Jonathan Reynolds, says businesses are craving economic stability following the turmoil triggered by Liz Truss’s mini-budget.
He was speaking after 120 business leaders signed an open letter endorsing Labour.
"When I go to a business or a factory or whatever, often what I’m told by the trade union reps is the same as what I’m told by the management," he told Kay Burley.
"It starts by saying, please, some stability. No more Liz Trusses."
The former prime minister’s 2022 budget caused market panic and sent mortgages soaring after former chancellor Kwasi Kwartang announced £45bn in unfunded tax cuts.
