Spain, Ireland and Norway have officially recognised a Palestinian state, despite an angry reaction from Israel, which has found itself increasingly isolated after seven months of conflict in Gaza. The three countries have said they hope their decision will accelerate efforts towards securing a ceasefire in Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, which is now in its eighth month. Joining FRANCE 24’s Nadia Massih to weigh in on the EU countries now recognising a Palestinian state and a return to pre-1967 borders is Palestinian UN official Majed Bamya.
